Trouble opening Outlook backed up files

Another problem i'm having the following: i had my
express mail backed up onto a cd as "inbox.dbx". when i
try and open it on my new laptop, it tell's me that this
is not a "win32" application? i then try and "open" this
same inbox.dbx file using Outlook and it tells me that
this is not an Outlook data file? Any suggestions?

Outlook can't import dbx files stand-alone. Ther collection of the DBX files
plus a few others make up your OE mailbox. Unless you can install Outlook on
the old laptop and import everything from there to a PST first, give

a good read to learn how to back-up OE on the old machine. You should be
able to transfer that to OE on the new lpatop, and then import into Outlook.
