trouble with 3d effect

I am have trouble adding the 3d effect. I've selected mt object, click on 3d, 3d settings, but nothing happens. It appears none of the 3d options are enabled through all are checked when I go into the settings

To what are you adding the 3D effect? Compound objects such as clipart the 3D menu
will be dimmed. You can ungroup your object and add 3D to the segments.

Make sure you have applied a border to your object before applying 3D
effect.

The circle doesn't need a border as long as it is filled if it is a vector. 3D
doesn't work with a bitmap, however you can use the bitmap circle to fill an drawn
autoshape circle and then it will work with the 3D.
