Is it possible to display only the name of the project in the project field
of the resource usage view without the path?

Teeder,
You must be dealing with a resource pool file where only one of the
sharer files is open. As long as the assignment row in the Usage view
points to a file that is not open, the Project field will contain the
full path. You can however, designate a spare text field and then strip
off just the file name portion of the path and display that.

Teeder,
Actually, to do what I suggested would require some VBA - it can't be
done with a formula since formulas do not apply to assignments. However,
there is an easier way.

1. In each of the sharer files display the Resource Usage view.
2. Add a spare text field (e.g. Text1) to that view
3. Filter the view for "Assignments" equal "yes".
4. Enter the filename into the first assignment spare text field and
fill down.

Now when you look at the master file, the spare text field will display
only the file name.

Teeder,
The "king" died of an overdose many years ago although there are those
sightings...... I am simply a jester in the court - a lot of flash and a
few tricks up my sleeve.

You're welcome, and thanks for the feedback.
