Trying to get ms excel to calculate the hours

Hi I have been trying to get excel to give the correct number of hours when
you start at 10:00 p and end 03:00 a I am a new user to excel

With start time in A1 and ending time in B1, try one of these formulas:

=(B1-A1+(A1>B1))

=MOD(B1-A1,1)

BTW, if your entries include both date and time, you won't have this problem.

Hi!

Try either of these:

To return the value as the decimal number 5, format the
cell as GENERAL:

A7 = 10:00 PM
B7 = 3:00 AM

=(B7-A7+(A7>B7))*24

To return the value as a time in h:mm 5:00, format the
cell as h:mm:

=B7-A7+(A7>B7)
