Trying to import converted data from Outlook 2003 into Entourage 2004

Mike

I successfully converted my calendar into a .ics

my contacts into a .vcf

and my mail into many .mbox

I am now trying to import these files into Entourage. I choose file>import
and try some of the options, but none of the options seem to recognize the
files on my mac when I browse to their locations.

Are these files not compatible with Entourage?

Thanks!

First of all, just to prevent any problems, make sure the file extensions
are visible. The vCards and the mbox files can simply be dragged and dropped
into Entourage (i.e. with the right view activated. This means you have to
have the address book view open before you can drop the vCards into the
address list. Similarly, drag your mbox into Entourage's mail folder view
panel.) As for the .ics, I would suggest trying one of Paul Berkowitz's
scripts, which are shareware, but there's a trial period, so you could use
them for a one-time-only import.

Ics can also be dropped onto the entourage icon, but be aware that entourage
only recognises single event ics and single contact vcf files.

what so you mean by single event ics?
do you mean if there are reocurring events, they will not be recognized?

what about single contact vcf files? what does this mean?

I mean that only one event (which can be a recurring event) is allowed in
each ics file. The ics file standard allows for multiple event definitions
to be included in one ics file. Entourage only recognises the first one.

Similar for VCF cards.

So does this mean if there are multiple reocurring events, entourage will
only display the first one?

What about for contacts? How does this affect the VCF cards for contacts?
