Turning off Auto-Notify for new email.

I have Entourage 2001. Is there a way to turn off the
auto-notify of new email coming in when it is just junk.
I'll get probably 100 emails in a day and I want to look at
maybe 2 of them. The rest go into the Junk folder, but that
darn icon still flashes and make me think that something
that I want to look at came in.

It's been years since I had 2001 but I think you should be able to make a
Rule in Tools/Rules/Mail (POP) -- or (IMAP), depending

If

Status is Junk

Then
Do Not Notify
Move to Junk Folder


If 2001 doesn't have 'Do Not Notify' as an action, then sorry: you'll have
to consider it yet another incentive to move to OS X and Office 2004.
