Hi,

Please tell me:

When I import, how can I direct my data either into
personal contacts or shared contacts. Thus far data is
directed automatically into the 'contacts' folder which is
only personal.

Secondly, when I click on 'to' in the mail folder, then
type in the name I'm searching for, I cannot find that
name. However, when I search for the same name in the same
way in the contacts folder, I can find it easily enough.

(It makes for an inconvenience in sending messages)

Thank you

What version of Outlook are you using? How are you attempting this import
and from where?

Milly,

I'm using Outlook 2003. I imported data from a text file.
Other than not being able to import into the user designed
fields I created, I had no trouble getting data into
outlook. I'm using an exchange server and my problem has
been differentiating the data I want to share with my
colleagues from data I want kept personal.

Thank you.

Importing/Exporting into and from Custom fields is not supported. Is this
the problem you are having?
