Type 1 font face pixelated in EDIT VIEW only!

Here's a weird one. I am assisting an end-user at this facility and use
Spybot S&D to remove some ad-ware on her system. Everything is fine now
except for one goofy thing: There is one particular font face that one
particular client uses. The font appears fine during the PowerPoint show
however in the EDIT view, it appears quite pixelated. I've only a cursory
knowledge of the various font faces and types, but has anyone seen such a
issue before and been able to resolve it?

Thanks in advance,

S

Sandy

Which version of PowerPoint are you using? Not sure what
the ad-ware removal would have to do with it, but what
you're describing sometimes happens when the presentation
was originally created in a higher version of PowerPoint,
then played using an older version...

Thanks for the reply Sandy, however this is PowerPoint 2003 and the entire
workgroup is using MS Office 11. Not an issue.

Excellent! That helped her a lot, thanks!

Since she is also using XP as her OS, I sent her to this site:

There is a great tool at Microsoft.com where you can fine-tune the Clear
Type Font Smoothing with a wizard interface. You must have administrative
rights on your computer (meaning, you must have the rights to install
software... which she does). When you go to the site (the URL is listed
below), you will be presented with a security box. Click YES and then follow
the Web page instructions to modify your settings for Font Smoothing. If you
are unhappy with the results, you can always use the BACK button on the Web
pages and turn off the settings.

Typically, desktop users will see more dramatic results than laptop users,
though on my 12.1" laptop screen I noticed an immediate improvement.

Is it possible that font smoothing got turned off in Windows?
