I am novis into Access and need a simple code
I have a table with 3 columns. "Old Acc#" , "New Acc #", "New Acct Type". I
want to have a form where the users can type in the "Old Acct#" and click a
Search button. If the acct exists i want to have the new "Acct#" and "New
Acct type" displayed below the search. What is the code for this?
I will appreciate any help.
Thank you

Hi Vlad,

How about having an unbound combo box that has the 3 fields, the first field
displayed and the second two with the width set to 0 (so your widths might
be 2cm;0cm;0cm). Use something like "select [Old Acc #], [New Acc #], [New
Acct Type] from ACCOUNTSTABLE order by [Old Acc #]"

Have two text boxes, one with teh record source =me.COMBONAME.column(1) and
the other with the record source =me.COMBONAME.column(2)

This will have the effect of when you select an item from teh combo box, the
text boxes display the New Acc# and New Acct Type fields.

Hope this helps.

Damian.
