Typing on the 3-slide handout in PowerPoint.

I know how you can add notes to individual slides and print them out for the
instructor, but I would like those notes appear on the lines to the right of
the slide during the 3-slide handout print option.

This could be a great feature for creating instructor handouts for teaching
workshops.

Good suggestion but this capability has been around for several
versions of PowerPoint. :) (IIRC it was added in PowerPoint 97)

Go to File/Send to/Microsoft Word and you'll see an option for "Notes
next to slides". The image may only show two slides but usually three
will fit on a page.

Also, the print option you refer to, the 3-slide handout, is for
audience handouts so the viewers of the presentation can take notes.

Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup. Requests for
assistance by email can not be acknowledged.

Thanks for the tip! I never tested that out before. I know that the notes
are designed for audience handouts, but I was creating an "instructor manual"
with the PowerPoint slides inside it. I wanted to add tips and suggestions
in the notes area for ease of use so that all instructors knew what to do on
each slide (have audience turn to page 16, click on this link, etc...).
Thanks for the new tip, I will use that instead!

It's actually available in PPT 95, too, but it was called "Write Up" and it
was on, mmmm, maybe the Tools menu?

I remember being panicked because I initially thought that MS had zapped
that feature in PPT 97!

Just thought you might enjoy that little piece of trivia. :)

I had a feeling you would know for sure. :)

And yes, I do enjoy Office trivia! <g>
