This is a problem corrected by installing the correct driver from the
manufacturer. Visit ATI and get the correct one.

Hi bob... I've contacted ATI regarding this problem and i've installed the
latest driver.. and according to ATI support they say this problem is not
caused by the ATI driver instead they ask me to chekc updates on microsoft
office.. i've updated my micorsoft office 2003 yet it is still like this

If the card/driver set won't work properly without reducing acceleration
in Office but any other card/driver set works properly, I would be
thinking that the problem is the card/driver set. What version of
DirectX is installed? It may be the interaction between ATI drivers and
DirectX. 9.0c is the latest version.

Hi Dan,

The issue is with the graphics chipset by Intel used by the
ATI card. ATI is aware of it, but you may want to
visit the Intel website to see if the update there for your
chipset applies.

Do you have the name of the ATI rep that you talked with
and/or a support call case #?

The problem isn't in Office other than the fact that
MS Word has long been a torture test for graphics
cards and drivers. Word basically just exposes
the problem.

Acceleration adjusts a timing loop. Having 'max' is
not always the best performing.

For a number of graphics cards Intel makes the chipsets/
controllers and sometimes they have their own software updates, more
often they advise the card makers who in turn do a driver
update. One of the links here may apply to your card
