Unable to edit or delete the Stuck at Office Schedule

Entourage X 10.1.4 OSX 10.2.8

The ŒStuck at Office¹ schedule prevents me from using the functionality
provided by the ŒSend & Receive¹ button in the tool bar.

When clicked, an ŒError description¹ dialog box pops up and informs me that
ŒThe schedule ³Stuck at office¹ could not be successfully executed.² and
suggests that I edit or delete the schedule.

When I click on the ŒEdit Schedule¹ button, another dialog box pops up
informing me that ŒAn error has occurred (-192)

When I attempt to access the Stick at Office schedule from the
ŒTools>Schedules¹ menu, the ŒStuck at office¹ schedule is shown in bold and
not checked as ŒEnabled¹. When ŒStuck at office¹ is selected, the ŒDelete¹
button is dimmed so I cannot remove and when ŒEdit¹ is clicked, Entourage
ŒUnexpectedly Quits¹.

How do I resolve this dilemma? Is there a preference or other file that I
can hand configure? I have numerous filters in place, that if possible, I
would not like to lose in resolving the problem.

Well, you must have a corrupted Schedules structure, so you might lose some.
Just temporarily, to get missing mail, disable Send & Receive All schedule,
and instead go to Tools/Send & Receive/ and select individual accounts, one
at a time. If even that creates the same problem. go top Tools/Accounts/[a
POP account], and on the Options page, click Allow Online Access. Then
you'll find a server icon for the account in your Folder list: click it and
you will be able to read your mail while it's still on the POP server. You
can already do this for any IMAP accounts.

For a real fix, there's no longer a separate Schedules file in Entourage X.
First try an Advanced Rebuild - hold down Option key while launching, and
choose Advanced. I expect that will fix it so that you can select "Stuck at
Office" and can delete. Do so, then remake it from scratch.

I have a feeling that the "Stuck at Office" listing in Tools/Schedules is
actually your real Send & Receive schedule (or mistaken as such by
Entourage). Send & Receive is the only schedule in bold, and the only one
which can't be deleted. What might be worth trying before even doing the
Advanced Rebuild would be to delete the Schedule (non-bold) which appears in
your list as "Send & Receive All", then open (Edit) the "Stuck at Office"
schedule and change its name to "Send & Receive All", and change its actions
to the usual Send and Receive actions. Then quit and relaunch Entourage and
see if all is OK, then put this fixed Send & Receive back on its usual timed
repeat, etc.

I think that somehow you may have tried to change its name - perhaps you had
TWO Send & Receives? (Perhaps you imported the non-bold one from Entourage
2001 or Outlook Express?) If so, this may fix it. Otherwise do the Advanced
Rebuild and that should fix it.

Paul,

The problem I describe first appeared under Office 2001 and continues under
Office X. And, yes I think it did show itself after an import.

I tried your second suggestion first to no avail. Then I tried your first
suggestion second (Advanced Rebuild) to no avail. Stuck at the Office is
the only item that now appears under Tools>Run Schedule and under Tools>Run
Schedule>Edit Schedules However, I still cannot delete and clicking on Edit
still causes Entourage to Unexpectedly Quit.

Any other thoughts,
Jeff Malloy
