Unable to see all "date insert" options in Word 2000

E

Ed - MIS

When I try to insert a date, I do not see all the
different options that used to see. I see some formats
(ie, 5/5/04 or 5/5/2004) but not other formats (ie, May
5th, 2004).

FYI that I replaced the Normal.dot from a PC that did work
properly but now the issue has returned.

Any suggestions? Please advise!

I don't know the answer to your question but suspect you don't really need
an answer.

Do you actually use a bunch of different date formats?

Consider creating a template with a CreateDate field where you want it,
formatted the way you want it. This is superior to anything you get from
Insert=>Date.

You can even take such a field and assign it to an AutoText entry and then
assign a key combination to it.

See http://addbalance.com/word/datefields1.htm for information on the
different kinds of datefields and how to format them.

"May 5th, 2004" has never been one of the options because it actually
requires three date fields.

You may want to download either the legal toolbars or the dateloader Add-In
from http://addbalance.com/word/download.htm. Both have date fields as
AutoText. You could change the field to suit you. As Suzanne pointed out,
your preferred format would require three fields -but could still be one
AutoText entry. Then your date would be available with either a key
combination or a menu, or both.

See http://addbalance.com/word/datefields1.htm for information on formatting
the various date fields.
