Unable to send mail links

I have Entourage X and cannot link a task, contact, note,
etc to an email message. When the message is sent the
basic message arrives but the link is not attached.
Sending file attachments is no problem. Brand new
PowerBook G4 running the latest version of OS X. Very
little seems to be written about solving this problem
even though I have seen other posts regarding the same
problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

'Linking' only applies to your end of things - to send an invitation, or
contact details, drag the calendar event or contact to a new mail message.
They will be attached as .ics/.vcs files.
