Unable to sync Exchange calendar entries: Error -18576.

Hello,

I am having some difficulty working with Exchange calendars in Microsoft
Entourage 11.2.1 on Mac OS X 10.4.4 & 10.4.5. Whenever I add a new
appointment in the Calendar, I get an error saying there was a sync error,
with "Error -18576" listed at the bottom of the error log entry. I logged
in to OWA and none of the entries I add in Entourage are listed.

I have tried just about everything from the client side to remedy this. I
have re-created the account in Entourage, made sure that I was the owner of
my own calendar, tried using our OWA server as the Exchange server instead
of our main server, and have had little success. I attempted to figure out
what "Error -18576" was on Microsoft.com, and couldn't find a list of
published error messages.

I found a previous message on this newsgroup that discussed it could be a
problem with URLScan. I am not an Exchange administrator, so I really don't
know what exactly I should be looking for on the server side. My Exchange
server admin is hesitant to make any changes on the server since everything
is running fine for the Windows clients which makes up 95% of our mail
clients, so I need to thoroughly document this problem before he will take a
look.

Has anyone else had this problem? What exactly is URLScan? What should I
be asking my Exchange server admin to look at it?

Thanks for all your help in advance, its appreciated!

This page :
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/exchange/index.html#exup_error
tells you how to read these error messages. This one would correspond to
an http error 424. I didn't find a decent explanation for http errors
424, but it looks like Entourage asked for something the server didn't
support.

The exact explanation was nowhere to be found on this page:
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html

Since it is a calendar problem, I would suspect that there is something
funky on the server with finding the calendar. Any chance the free/busy
server is not specified properly ??

Here's what MS has to say about URLScan:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/tools/urlscan.mspx
UrlScan version 2.5 is a security tool that restricts the types of HTTP
requests that Internet Information Services (IIS) will process. By
blocking specific HTTP requests, the UrlScan security tool helps prevent
potentially harmful requests from reaching the server.

It's quite possible this could be interfering with your access to the
calendar...
