I recently installed the Exchange update and ALMOST everything works.
The one exception is maddening :
Calendar events created in Entourage WILL NOT synch to the exchange
server.
Every event created on Entourage generates an error of the format
"Could not synchronize record: event name to Exchange server:username
- Exchange account", with my username and the event name substituted
in the appropriate spots.
Since this occurs every time synch is attempted, the error log quickly
becomes populated with dozens of these errors, and the Entourage icon
keeps bouncing for attention ( a function that, of course, can not be
disabled).
Everything else (Free/Busy, LDAP, Mail, Invitations) works fine. I've
checked with our admin, and we're running the correct version of
Exchange, with all appropriate protocols active. No odd
configurations (port numbers, SSL) are implemented.
Events CREATED using Outlook 2000 on my Windows box successfully synch
to Entourage.
I can delete events created in Outlook using Entourage. Both of these
functions seem quite slow, but they eventually work.
I'm connected to the Exchange server through a Cisco VPN, using
Version 4.0.1A of the OS X Client.
I have tried every obvious (and some non-obvious) thing I can think
of, including reseting synchronization and turning off the OS X
firewall. The tcpflow utility is not usable for me, because it
apparently can't see VPN packets.
