Unable to view incoming mail

I have been using Outlook Express since September 2003, and recently I have been unable to view incoming emails. I am still able to send emails, but new messages aren't showing up in the preview pane and when I open them all I get is the hour glass chugging away. Any suggestions for how to fix this?

This group support Microsoft Outlook from the Office suite of business
productivity programs. Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and
is not related.

You can find a news group for Outlook Express by looking under
Windows->Internet Explorer. http://www.tomsterdam.com is also a good
resource for OE questions.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

I'm having the exact smae problem. Started two days ago.
I have tried everything I know. Any help will be greatly
appreciated.
