undeliverable mail message

Hi
I have disabled an account of a chap who has left the company. Can I edit
the Undeliverableelivery Status Notification (Failure) just for this
account to say that this person has left. This is to prevent external people
resending messages.
I am not familiar with Exchange server software.

Why don't you simply put an Out of Office response in his Outlook? That is,
if you allow the responses to go to the internet.

If I understand correctly, an out of office response is no good as the
message doesnt get that far. I have disabled the users account so the message
doesnt reach his mailbox

I have disabled users with mail coming into their mailboxes all the time.
Have you logged into the mailbox to check?
