uninstall office 2000 on Win2000Pro wo/disks

My old Office 2000 disks (from Dell) are missing. I now
have new office disks but I can't uninstall the old
version without the disks. MS Office update web site
doesn't work either. It reports that the install database
is corrupt so it can't continue and also says I may not be
able to uninstall as well.

This is a statement of a problem. The implied question
is ... what is the solution. That would seem to be obvious.
