uninstalled paint, how to reinstall, no cd

i bought a laptop from toshiba and did not receive a windows cd. somehow i
accidentally uninstalled calculator and paint. is there any way to get it
back without buying the full windows xp cd?

I'd suggest posting your question in the appropriate newsgroup. I know what
I'd have to do but if it asked for the disk, I'd be fine. (I really don't
like that you no longer get a OS restore disk any longer. Surely it can only
save them a penny or two per system, if that.)

Go to Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs - Add/Remove Windows Components -
accessories and utilities..

OK, if they are checked, uncheck them.. restart Windows.. go back to
accessories and utilities.. check them both.. ok out of Add/Remove
Programs..

Do not bother. Go to Google and search for free Paint or Calculator. There
are tons of free and much more sophisticated paint programs and calculators.
Windows paint is waste of space.
