Unique ID settings

Is there a setting that will allow me to overwrite/reset the unique ID
column? I've created a template from an existing plan after stripping out the
unnecessary details and due to the gyrations the plan went through to get to
this end state, the numbering is in the thousands.
I'd like to be able to reset it for the template and resume the unique
numbering when the template is executed.
If this isn't possible, suggested alternatives?

Hi Michell,

The idea of the Unique ID field is to prevent any 2 tasks being duplicated
or mixed up in any way. Project always produces a new Unique ID whenever
you create a new task, even if you delete the task ad re-create it. Ther;s
no way withing Projecy to reset this, as far as I know. Maybe ther is a way
via vba; you could ask on the developer newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24.

Have you tried copying and pasting all tasks into a new project? They should
get new Unique ID's then.
