Unknown error -50, Hotmail

I am having trouble downloading mail from one of my Hotmail accounts. The
first 100 messages download with no problem. There are 838 messages
remaining and I keep getting and error message:

"An unknown error (-50) occurred.

Could not retrieve mail.

Account name: "Hotmail""

Initially I was able to fix this by deleting some messages thinking one or
some may have been corrupt. Unfortunately the problem persists. I have
another Hotmail account that is working properly.

Any ideas?

Same problem now on my office Mac with a different Hotmail account. It just
happened and I have no idea why.
