Unknown Error, Powerpoint 97, placing Flash

I'm trying to embed a Flash animation in a PowerPoint presentation, '97
version. When I create the animation box, I get the error message "An
unknown error occured during creation of ActiveX control". I can't get it to
give me any more information. I know our ActiveX is current because I had
our server-master reinstall it today after I got the first error. Any
suggestions on what might be causing this would be most helpful.
