I have one LDAP server configured in Entourage 2004, and I've configured
Prefs to not use it when composing messages. The "account" name for it
happens to be identical to my work IMAP/SMTP account.
Despite the preferences setting, the first time I attempt to send mail from
my work account, Entourage tries to connect to the server. I've captured the
packets using tcpdump, and all it does is a base object search of the root
DSE requesting the supportedControls and two other attributes.
Entourage never seems to try this directory connection again, until I
restart it for some reason and have to send more mail.
Why is Entourage bothering to do this when I've told it that I don't want to
use it when addressing mail?
Cheers,
Chris
