Unposted Attachment problem OL2002

I haven't ssen any other post on this issue.

I use Outlook 2002 on XP Pro with Office Sevice Pack 2
installed.

Outlook becomes "not responding" immediately after
selecting any email that contains an attachment.

Any remedies short of uninstalling/reinstalling Outlook
2002 are welcomed!
