Unread Mail Folder Showing Way Too Many Messages

My unread mail folder shows 4,294,967,291 unread messages. When I go to to
the unread folder only a few of my actual unread messages get displayed. How
do I fix this?

I'm using Outlook 2003

It's an old bug which should have been fixed in later service packs and
updates for Office 2003.
Did you already install these?

If you already have all updates installed, recreate the Search Folder and
see if it still happens.
