getting crazy

I upgrade my HDD and re-installed Office 2003 (My old HDD is also using the
same version). Problems arise: (1) some of my exisitng email in 'in-box'
showing '???' or 'strange wording' (2)some of the new email receiving also
showing '???' and 'strange wording' I did set under Regional and languares
to accept almost all languares (I am communicating with
English/Chinese/Russia speaking counterparts). I don't face this problem in
the old 'HDD'. Any suggestion? I am getting mad on this 'unreadable' email
issue. appreciate if anyone colud help. Thanks a million
