Unsubscribe to a newgroup

Has anyone else had this problem?

I subscribed to a newsgroup, and I changed the name of it so it made more
sense to me. But in doing that the newsgroup doesn¹t function correctly any
longer. I would like to remove it but it will not let me do that. Instead
I get errors for every post in the newsgroup.

I have tried dragging it to the Deleted Items but that didn¹t work. Any
suggestions?

Select the parent folder of the newsgroup in the folder list, which will
give you a list of all the newsgroups available, as well as those you
subscribed to. Select the newsgroup you renamed and click on the Unsubscribe
button. Alternatively, renaming the group to its original name should make
the problem go away, too.

Hmmmm, this is a new one. I wasn't even aware you could change the name of a
newsgroup, but by golly you can. I got an error "no such newsgroup" and was
able to edit the name and it worked.

Try this....Under Tools in the Menu bar, select Accounts. Click on the News
tab. Select Microsoft News Server and "Delete" it. If that doesn't work you
might need to do a database rebuild.

You should be able to add it back after deleting.

Let me know if that works.
