unwanted lines around grouped items

Whenever I use FORMAT OBJECT to move grouped items to a specific location
(text boxes, clipart, wordart, pictures, etc.), if one of those items has a
line drawn around it, then all of the items end up with unwanted lines around
them. How can I move a group of objects without this happening?

What version Publisher?
I cannot duplicate this.
Use guidelines and move the group manually. Do the line(s) print?

I'm using Publisher 2002. This phenomenon does not occur when I move the
group manually--only when I right-click on the group and use FORMAT OBJECT.
I just did a very quick test. In a new document I created a text box with no
outline, then created a square with a line, grouped the two, right-clicked,
and changed the layout. Now both items have a line around them and the lines
do print. I hope that helps...

Have you tried the Measurement toolbar?

That also avoids having to open up Right-click > Format Object (although use
of your mouse is required)

Try this, when you are in the "format object" dialog, colors and lines tab, clear the
"draw border inside frame."

I tried your suggestion but it didn't correct the problem. Regarding Ed's
response, I usually do rely on the ruler bar but sometimes a more precise
measurement is called for.

I'm not talking about the Ruler bar, I'm talking about the Measurement
toolbar.

Right-click your toolbar, click Measurement. A little pane appears allowing
you to view and alter position, size, rotation and kerning values real fast.
