Unwanted text strikethrough on sent message

I am using Outlook 2002 (with SP3). My mail format is HTML. I sent an email to a list/serv that had some text and a hyperlink (web address). All of the recipients said that PART of the message’s text had strikethroughs over it. Why does this happen sometimes, and how can I prevent it?
