Updated software - now crashes

Help!
I was notified via software up date that there were up[dates
available.
I clicked ok
and installed both updates and restarted the computer.
now none of my office programs will open
they each bring up an error screen saying they have encountered a
problem and have to close. I have clicked to send the reports to
microsoft.
Has anybody encountered this?

Did you run Repair Permissions and restart after updating? Try running the
Combo Apple updater and see if that helps. You might need to use "Remove
Office" and install from the CD then update to solve your problems.

Apply the combo updater rather than the Delta update available through
software updater overwrites potentially problem-causing files. Several users
have reported this fixed some odd problems they were having with Entourage.

The combo update installer updates Mac OS X 10.4, 10.4.1, 10.4.2, 10.4.3,
10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6, 10.4.7, or 10.4.8 to 10.4.9.
