We used the OCIW to create a tranform that excluded the Spanish & French
spell checkers(features set to Not Available Hidden Locked) from the English
Office XP installation.
We have now opened an office in France and although the users there are
using our English PC set up they need to use the French spell checker in
Office as well as the English spellchecker.
Being new to transforms etc I updated our current transform so that the
Office features now include all Proofing tools.
I sent this transform to my colleagues in France and suggested that they run
"setuppro.exe" from the Office media with the command line options
TRANSFORMS=path to\UPDATEDOXP.MST .
Unfortunately this had no effect, i.e. the French and Spanish spell checkers
were not added.
Further investigation indicated that the "Intelligent Setup" would use the
settings from the previous installation unless the command line
NoFeatureStateMigration=1 (or NOFEATURESTATEMIGRATION=1 depending upon which
MS document was read), tried both to no avail. (Also tried Transforms
instead of TRANSFORMS on the command line)
Next I tried using MSIEXEC /i path to media\pro.msi /t path to
transform\updatedoxp.mst yet again the spell checkers did not appear.
Is there any way to modify the installation feature set of an MSI
installation without uninstalling the product and re-installing it?
