upgrade effort

We are considering upgrading from 2003 to 2007.

I was wondering if anyone had any feedback about how much time and effort is
generally required for the migration if you don't use a consultant.

Average? Best case, worst case?

Thanks,

James, how long is a peace of string mate :)

I dont think that can be answered this easily. Firstly you need to
understand the differences between 2003 and 2007 and how you want to approach
these changes. Do you want the feature increase that 07 offers you or do you
just want to use it the way you alreays used it? Do you use timehseet and if
so do you understand the difference between timseheet in 03 and 07.

How much collaboration do you want to use? Do you use workpsaces now and if
so how do you want to use them in 07.

As you can see there are lot of implications not to mention training that is
required. If you are talking strictly technical, you can move an 03 to an 07
environment including testing within 2 days, but this is ONLY technical
upgrade which is the small part of the job. Generally I recommend that you
seek some assistance from a partner which will make your live easier. You
will find a suite of EPM partners on the Microsoft site.
Hope this helps
