You would have to contact your vendor or Microsoft to see about an exchange.
They are separate products and you can't just download an updater.

It depends on your definition of 'upgrade'...

If you mean "Can I purchase the [Standard or] Special Media Edition at the
upgrade pricing?" there's no reason why not. OTOH, if you mean "Can I swap
what I have for one of the others (for free or just pay the difference)?"
that's between you & your vendor.
