Upgrading Entourage on the Mac blew away my calendar and contacts!

Last night I applied the updates to Office and it destroyed by Address Book
and Calendar events! I've tried rebuilding the database but it didn't help.
What can I do?

Hi Jim,

Do you have an Exchange account? If so, you will find your contacts and
calendar events under your exchange account rather than in the local
folders.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Is there an easy way to move all of my Exchange calendar appointments back
to my own personal calendar? I never wanted that information on the
Exchange calendar to begin with, but the previous version of 2004 didn¹t
have the capability to maintain multiple calendars. All of my personal
Entourage calendar data was therefore automatically synced with Exchange.

I think I finally ³get² what is going on now with multiple calendars, but I
wasn¹t prepared for the upgrade move which created a ³new² Exchange calendar
with all of my personal calendar information, leaving my personal Entourage
calendar blank. The process seemed a bit, well, unilateral.

They are likely on your exchange server. If you click on Contacts or
Calendar under your exchange account, do you see the items you are missing?

Thanks,
Rebecca

Hi Chris,

You can move or copy them all to your local contacts and calendar.

For Contacts: select all of them and go to the contact menu and choose
either move or copy, depending on which you want to do and choose the
location in the window that appears (Choose Address Book will bring up a
window of all your folders).

For Calendar: repeat the above, but you will need to go to the Calendar view
and choose the custom view for ³All Events². You need to wait for all the
events to show before doing the move/copy. If you have a large number of
events you may want to do this in smaller amounts, say 100-200.

Thanks,
Rebecca
