use entourage 2004 as default mail program

I changed the default mail program from "mail" to "entourage 2004."
This change was made inside of "mail." When I try to open the default
mail program from IE I get a message that says "internet config error.
Verify mail and new settings." All seems to be set correct.

Try veryfying the settings through an application like More Interent or
IC-Switch. They are free and do the job quite well,

I installed ic-switch made entourage 2004 the default. It now seems to
be the default but the IE still says "internet config error".

This may seem too obvious and was probably the first thing you did, but it
isn¹t mentioned. Did you change the default email app in System Preferences
Internet > Email? Is IE also set as the default browser?

Unfortunately, in 10.3.x you can't do that anymore. The internet config prefs
have been split between Mail and Safari. You need thrid party apps to access
all the other ones :-<

It looks to me like the Internet Config database on your Mac is
corrupted.....

Did you check IE preferences to be sure you have set the Protocol Helper for
mail to Entourage? You may still have Mail checked?
