Use of Powerpoint with NEC LT220 projector

When I use clipart through powerpoint with projector above I find the yellow
colour (seen on the computer screen) comes out as green (on the projected
screen) and no amount of changing the colour brings it back to yellow.
However using the projector with, for instance, a DVD the yellow colour is
the same on the computer screen and the projector screen. Can anyone explain
this to me and are there any easy fixes which are cheap? I did find a gizmo
on the internet which claims it would give me true colours but it was
probabaly more expensive than the projector!

Thanks for your help.

A few things to look into. Yellow looking green suggests the red channel is
weak/missing. To demonstrate this to yourself, go to the Color picker in
PowerPoint and select the yellow color, then click on custom and reduce the
red channel by 50%.

1) Check the color out from the laptop. Hook it up to a regular monitor and
see if the color is off on the second screen, if it is, then the problem is
with the laptop video out.
a) check for color management software on the 2nd video output
b) check for a broken connector

2) Try a different cable between the projector and the laptop (even if you
need to temporarily plug in a short one), if the color is fine
a) check for broken connectors on the cable
b) check for broken wires (ring the cable)

3) If the color is fine in both the above cases,
a) see if there is a color input adjustment for the vga card on the
projector (maybe service tech assessable only)
b) insert a line booster with independently controllable color channels
and adjust for the loss (you may need to change to component video inputs)

Post back if these basics don't get you a solution.
