using a filter to facilitate date entry

I created a query to filter expenditure code, then dept
code......I get
a specific code for expenditure say.....all 7's that are
available to
dept 1........ say there are four available 7.. but each
has a
differente name........

from here........I want to create a pull down,,,,,which
list only those
7's for that dept.......... not all 7's for all
depts..............

I need this information on a form.. so once I get the
exp. code, from a
cetain dept, I pull down, chose..and continue on same
form... with data
entry to a table.... to finish the purchase .. including
other fields
such as date, company, expense.........and so on..
I can't do it........when I run the form.....it will give
me how many
records were filtered.. not what I want......... I want
to filter expt
code, from whatever dept.. then select which of the exp
names,,,then
continue with rest of data entry expenditure..
