Using Autofilter

Jrufin

Hi,
In using Autofilter, for example I want to see and print only those tasks
that belongs to a person named Bob. I used Autofilter but autofilter will
just highlight those tasks in different color (e.g., Blue) but it will not
hide all the other tasks. How to do it? In Excel this can be done easily by
hiding automatically those unwanted items, but how about in MPP?

Thanks.

Hi Jrufin,

I take it that you have set Autofilter on from the Project/filter drop down
on the toolbar. If so then it should work in exactly the same way as excel,
and only return those activities where the value in the field which is the
filter condition for the project.

Hi,
I have set the autofilter from "Menu - Project - Filtered For". Then it will
show on all columns the similir droip down button like excel. But after I
selected "Bob" from the resource column, it will just highlight in BLUE color
all tasks/line items in which Bob is the resource, but it will not hide all
the others tasks/lines. How come??

Summary task lines will also show to give you level of indenture information.
Try using the Resource Usage View. View/Resource Usage
Now apply the filter for Bob, Ted, Carol, or Alice appropriately.

Actaully the item I wrote below is just an example. What I'm really after is
the autofiltering.

I want to see/print only those items I set in my autofilter, either by Date
Range, by resource names, etc.. The problem is everytime I use autofilter
"Menu - Project - Filtered For - All Task, Autofilter", it will then show a
similiar drop down button (like in Excel) on all the columns of my
spreadsheet, but after I selected the filter criteria on those buttons, it
will just highlight those items in BLUE color but it will not hide the other
items. How come??
