Using disable/enable property on datasheet

Can I use the enable=true/false property on a datasheet form. I have
a block of code disables two text boxes when you check a checkbox.

It runs fine on a regular form however when I try and disable a text
box it a datasheet view it does not work at all.

Does the enable property have any effect on datasheet forms?
