Hi,

Is it possible to change back to Entourage 2004 from 2008 and keeping rest of the application like word, excel in 2008 format. I mean to use Entourage 2004 and word, excel 2008 at the same time on same machine. Does anybody have any idea about this? coz i m using office 2007 student version for windows and it doesn't have outlook so i m using outlook 2003 and its working fine on same PC. So is same thing possible in mac anybody tried this thing.
I tried the following thing instead of removing office 2004 I placed back in application and I am running Entourage 2004 and its working fine but it taking space. So I think this can be solution to problem that many students like me are facing but I don't know the impact on system.
So does anybody feels that its going to create problem coz for me its working fine. Try it out and mail me what happens. I think this is the best solution that can be used so that students don't have to waste there money on higher version.

Cheers,
Sam

Yes, just check Startup items and delete all Microsoft Database daemons.
When you launch Entourage 2004 it will create a new one.

In fact, many users are running both Word 04 and Word 08 at the same time
for VBA.

Just be aware that you should install 2004 first. Entourage 2008 moves fonts
to a different location disabling the older 2004 fonts. If you install 2004
AFTER 2004 it will just reinstall them.

Office 2008 Font Install:

Office 2008 uses a different method for fonts and many fonts are new
versions. Office 2008 will install fonts to the /Library/Fonts/Microsoft
folder. By being at the root, then all users on the machine have access to
them and you don't get Office 2008 putting multiple copies on the machine
for each user.

The installer will scour /Library/Fonts/ and ~/Library/Fonts/ for fonts with
the same name and move them to /Library/Disabled Fonts/ or
~/Library/Disabled Fonts/ depending on where they were found.
