Hi,

Using Entourage 2004 is it possible to open another users caledar
as it is possible in Outlook?

Thanks...

If you're both on an Exchange Server, you could have the other user set up
delegation in Outlook and allow you to see his or her calendar data. You
can learn more about this in the Entourage Help topic "Set up delegate
access in Outlook". Then the you should be able to view his or her calendar
data on the Exchange Server as a delegate. Just go to Tools > Accounts,
open your Exchange account, click the "Delegate" tab, and add the person
whose calendar you wish to view.

Also, if the free/busy server is set up normally, you should be able to
see the other user's free/busy time if he or she invites you to an event.

Hi Mickey,

We're running into the dreaded "An error occured while trying to access
the directory server" when setting up delegation to Entourage. This is
happening while working with both our production environment (SSL on
for LDAP, which should have been fixed as of 11.1.0) and our
development box (no SSL for LDAP). Forms Based authentication is OFF on
both servers. Entourage clients on both 10.3 and 10.4 have DNS set up
correctly and can resolve the LDAP server. Directory Services searches
in Entourage work as expected.

Is there some magical syntax for the LDAP server name or search base
that actually allows this to work? Is the search base string case
sensitive?? Do you have to set the DNS server on the Mac to point to
the Exchange/AD server (we have tried this, no help, BTW)?

If anyone can send me a screenshot of a working LDAP config for
delegation, that would be much appreciated.

Mike,

You might try pointing the directory server to a global catalog. If
you dont know which servers are GC's you can ask you Windows Server
admin.

I had the dreaded error contacting directory server and once I used a
global catalog server all was well.. I did however also remove my
account and recreate it. Also you might have your windows admin
verify that the GC is properly replicated and correctly advertised..
they should know what this means ;)

As of right now I cannot get delegate access to work either... Does
anyone have this working ??? I can select an account that has been
granted delegate (full mailbox access) it shows the account in the
folder list but has (not connected) after the account name.. and no
synchronization at all..
