Using Exchange Mailbox Size Limitations with Entourage 2004

We are currently using size restrictions on mailboxes in our
enterprise. Our Mac users however have run into trouble, once they
approach/pass the limitation. It seems as though the mail that is
deleted or moved from their Exchange folder is still available on the
Exchange server (by using OWA, etc). Is there any way to better
synchronize the deletion of mail back to the Exchange server?
Has anyone seem similar problems?

Roger,

I have had similar problems but thought it was related to the deleted
items retention policy and times in Exchange. Educating users about
keeping mailboxes clean and emptying their e-mail trash helped somewhat
and setting retention times to 2 days seemed to improve things as well.
However there is still a discrepency between the mailbox size that
Exchange reports and when it should and does send warning messages.
