Using outlook 2002 running in windows xp how do I insert a signat.

I am trying how to figure out how to insert a signature into a new message.
Currently have Windows XP and Outlook 2002. On the tool bar the insert menu
no longers offers the signature command. Any help would be greatly
appreciated.
