using Pub 2000 on XP

I recently upgraded my system by installing 512 MB RAM and WinXP pro.
Now when I use Publisher 2K I get a message that "there is not enough
memory to display a picture" even though the same files worked fine
under Win98 and 96MB RAM. I have searched the MS KB and teh newsgroups
but I can't find any reason or answer for this problem. I did have
another program that gave me memory probs after I moved to XP but the
vendor provided a patch that fixed it. Is there something different in
the way XP handles memory than before? Does anyone know how to resolve
this problem? My Pub2K is SR-1 ver. TIA

Try disabling Script Blocking and the Microsoft Office PlugIn in Norton
AntiVirus, and post back with your results.

Ok, I did this and it doesn't seem to have any affect. Not sure I
understand what NAV has to do with Publisher's memory. Any other
suggestions? Thanks.

Can we clear NAV out of the picture completely? Just to test this issue,
could you download and install an alternative piece of AV software (such as
AVG from www.grisoft.com, which is free) and uninstall NAV, just to see what
happens (if the issue isn't sorted, you can reinstall NAV - if you want to,
that is)
Not sure I
understand what NAV has to do with Publisher's memory.
"Out of memory" often does not mean that the program has run out of memory -
it is raised as a generic error by lots of other problems. Including a bug
in Norton AntiVirus.
