Using speech recognition in Access

I have a Movie database that I designed and have a "memo" field that I use
for reviews. I can get the cursor into the "Memo" field, but when I speak
"speech recognition" doesn't take my words as dictation. Is there a comand I
am missing that must be used to tell "speech recognition" to start taking
transcribing dictation?
