Using two Calendar's after SP2 upgrade and Syncing

S

Shawn Bettes

I keep my calendar for work and my personal calendar on Entourage. I just
updated to SP2 and now have the two different calendars (On My Computer &
Work Exchange Server Calendar). I¹m ok with the change but two things I
have to figure out:
1. Will my ³On My Computer² calendar not sync with my ³Exchange Server²
calendar?
2. I sync everything with my Treo and now the only thing that syncs is
my ³Exchange Server² items... not my ³On My Computer² items.

Is there a way sync both calendars together and thus get both items on my
Treo?

Thanks,

Shawn

The calendar that syncs with Palm is the one associated with your default
email address. If your Exchange account is the default in
Tools/Accounts/Mail (as it must be now), then the exchange calendar and
address book will sync with the Treo. If you set the default mail account to
a POP or IMAP account (even an SMTP-only fake one you invent), then the
local calendar and address book will sync . It would NOT be safe to switch
back and forth, though the conduit would probably see missing items (e.g.
missing from local Entourage calendar because they're only in Exchange) as
deletions in Entourage rather than just-added contacts on the Palm (after an
Exchange sync) and remove them from the Palm.

I have written a fee script that will copy events and contacts form Exchange
to local (or even a different Exchange) and vice versa, and can be made to
work something like a sync using a custom view. I'll be releasing it soon,
hen I have time to write a ReadMe. I'll announce it here.

Ok... so basically it¹s one or the other. I can¹t get both calendar items
on my treo or any sync¹d handheld. While the updates are definite
improvements it seems like not being able to have both calendars sync in
some way a disappointment.

I¹ll just have to live with it or buy your script down the road. Thanks for
the reply.
