Using two databases for Entourage

S

sjary

Hi.

My wife needs home-access to her old work emails - is on maternity
leave right now - and has her work MS database on disc.

Is it possible to merge databases or run two at the same time? We're
using Office 2004.

I tried switching Identities but can't work out how to import her work
database into that new Indentity.

Cheers!

If your wife's database was created with the same version of Entourage, it
should be possible to run both her and your identity as separate identities.
Quit any Office applications that might be running, then navigate to
~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities. Drag your wife's
user folder in there (make sure it's got a different name from yours; rename
it if necessary), and you should now have two folders in that Identities
folder, your own and your wife's. If you now launch Entourage, go to
Entourage>Switch Identity, and you should be able to select your wife's
identity from there.

If that doesn't work, post back and give more details, and we'll try to
import the folders manually.
