Using VLOOKUP function

I am trying to update a column that retains aggregate
totals of book numbers sold. On one worksheet, I have
every booknumber found in our database, and on the second
worksheet I have the actual booknumbers with the aggregate
total ordered for the fiscal month. When I use the
following formula, the formual fails to return good data
in the column I need updated:
=VLOOKUP(Sales!$A$2,Sheet2!$C$2,Sheet2!$D$2,FALSE)
What can I do to correct the formula? Any help would be
greatly appreciated.

maybe you should try:
=VLOOKUP(Sales!$A$2,Sheet2!$C$2:$D$100,2,FALSE)
