Using word as the Outlook editor

Can someone please tell me how to change the default setting when replying to emails from plain text to rich text
I don't mean the drop down box that allows you to change from plain to rich to HTML. When I click on reply in Outlook it opens word and places my signature in plain text if I then change to rich text my signature stays in plain. There must be a way to open the reply in rich text so that the formatting of my signature is there from the start
Any help gratefully accepted

You would need to change the format (Edit, edit message) and save it then
reply. it would probably easier to open a new message in RTF format and
paste the sig...
